Caved... A Little...

I've been teasing poor Jen about her gifts, and figured I'd show her one of the things I've been working on. Since I'd just cast off on these, they seemed the perfect choice.

Project:Falcons Fingerless Gloves
Pattern:none used
Size:medium
Yarn:Red Heart
Colors:Black & Red
Needles:US5
Gauge:none
Ravelry link:Hop on over!

I've got one other thing completely finished, and I need a little help from hubs to finish the other, but it's basically done, too. What else do I have up my sleeve? No idea. I have the rest of this month to figure it out, though ;-)

On another note, relating to Jen: she wants to make socks next, and since I've been wanting to learn how to do them too, we decided to pick a pattern: Basic Ribbed Socks. We'll knit them together, hopefully so we'll be able to figure out how to do it at the same time. I just hope I have the right gauge, as my needle-size differs from what the pattern itself says, but is within the range given on Ravelry. We'll see.

Oh, and I'll be using this:

for the toe and heel:

for the body of the socks:

Since I don't have the yardage required for just the striped yarn, I'm going to have to figure out the toes and heels, on top of doing a top-down sock for the first time ever. And, well, knit socks, really.

Wish us luck!
